Roster of the Department of Missouri, Grand Army of the Republic, and Its Auxiliaries, 1895 (Kansas City, Mo.: Western Veteran, 1895)

Founded in 1866, the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) became the largest association of Union Civil War veterans. This roster includes the names of the members of the "posts" (or chapters) of the G.A.R.'s Department of Missouri. Most entries include the G.A.R. member's name, the name and location of the post to which he belonged, and the Civil War unit in which he served (company, regiment or ship). The publication also includes a register of members of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, which was a separate Union Civil War veterans' association, and a roster of members of the Woman's Relief Corps, Department of Missouri, which was an auxiliary to the G.A.R.
