The Handclasp Across the Sea (St. Louis, Mo.: Globe-Democrat Composing Room), 1918-1919 (incomplete run)

These newsletters, issued by the Globe-Democrat composing room, include articles by and about St. Louis-area soldiers in World War I. In many cases the newsletters contain letters of soldiers to friends and family while serving in Europe or stationed in camps in the United States. Most of the soldiers are former employees of the Globe-Democrat or relations of Globe-Democrat employees. Some references are to lists of composing room staff who are in the service; these lists only include the soldier's name. Some references are to poems written by soldiers.
