The 86th Aero Squadron was created in August 1917 at Kelly Field, near San Antonio, Texas. The squadron departed for overseas service in March 1918, and served in England in France. In May 1919, the squadron returned to the United States and was disbanded. The men in the squadron were from several states. The states that supplied the most men in the unit were Missouri, Illinois and California. This book contains notes, often in a humorous tone, regarding men of the 86th Aero Squadron during World War I. Also includes photographs and caricatures of some men.
