Mary Institute was a preparatory school for girls affiliated with Washington University. This index consists primarily of references to photographs of students. The portraits in the 1904 yearbook are usually accompanied by some biographical notes and the student's birth date; portraits in the 1907 yearbook are usually accompanied by a poem about the student. Both yearbooks usually include the student's residential address. Some additional references to students have been included in this index, such as school organizations in which a student was involved. However, this index does not necessarily include every mention of a student in one of the yearbooks. This index also includes a few references to business advertisements that include a building illustration.
