The High School News, 1896-1917 (published by students of Central High School in St. Louis) (incomplete run)

The High School News was a newspaper published by students of Central High School, which was known as St. Louis High School in its early years. Beginning in 1910 a biannual "commencement" issue, in the style of a yearbook, featured photographs of graduating seniors. This index consists primarily of references to photographs of students and faculty. In most cases, the photographs are portraits of individual students. These portraits are often accompanied by notes regarding school organizations in which the student was involved. (A small number of references refer to notes about a student or faculty member without a photograph.) Please note that in many cases a yearbook may contain information about a student, in addition to his or her individual portrait. For example, a student may also appear in a group photograph of the football team or in a write-up on the activities of a school club. In most cases, this additional information has not been indexed. This index also includes some references to business advertisements that contain a portrait or a building illustration.
