St. Louis Republic analysis of carrier stops lists, 1919

Letter of Collins Thompson of the St. Louis Republic newspaper to David R. Francis dated September 12, 1919, states, “I am enclosing herewith memorandum containing . . . the names of those who have stopped the Republic since January 1, with their address, their occupation, and the reason given the carrier or the office for having the paper discontinued. . .” Entries on the accompanying “Analysis of Carrier Stops” lists usually include name, address, occupation, and reason for no longer subscribing to the St. Louis Republic (i.e., left city, changed to Post).
