Letterbooks of letters received by Lucien Eaton, 1858-1889

This source contains an inventory of letters sent to St. Louis attorney Lucien Eaton, who held the position of register in bankruptcy for many years. Most of the letters were written by individuals, businesses, institutions, and government agencies that were located outside the St. Louis area, thus many of the names found in this index are not St. Louisans. The letters include personal and business correspondence. Some of the correspondence was in the form of postcards and telegrams.
